How to Prepare for a Past Life Regression Hypnosis Session

Preparing for a past life regression hypnosis session is an important part of getting the most out of your experience. While the process itself is gentle and guided, how you arrive mentally, emotionally, and physically can influence how easily you relax and how clearly you access insight.

This guide will help you feel ready, calm, and open to the experience.

Step 1: Set a Clear Intention

Before your session, take a moment to reflect on why you are drawn to past life regression.

You might be looking to:

  • Understand emotional patterns

  • Explore recurring themes in your life

  • Gain insight into relationships or behaviours

  • Let go of something that feels unresolved

You don’t need to have all the answers — simply having a general intention helps guide the session.

Step 2: Keep an Open Mind

Past life regression is a unique and personal experience. Some people see vivid imagery, while others sense emotions, impressions, or simply “know” what is happening.

Try to:

  • Let go of expectations. Whatever you expect to happen in a session, the complete opposite may happen. Expect the unexpected and trust the process.

  • Avoid trying to control the outcome

  • Trust whatever comes up during the session. Its what your subconscious wants you to experience. Trust that.

The more relaxed and open you are, the more natural the experience tends to feel.

Step 3: Prepare Your Body

How you care for your body on the day can make a difference in how relaxed and focused you feel.

For best results:

  • Avoid caffeine where possible (one weak coffee is okay if needed)

  • Eat a light, normal meal before your session

  • Stay hydrated, but avoid excessive water intake

  • Continue any prescribed medications as normal. If you are taking prescribed medications such as antidepressants (e.g. SSRIs including Fluoxetine, Sertraline, or Escitalopram), it is important to be aware that these medications can influence sleep, focus, and relaxation response for some individuals. Only around 10% of Tara's clients struggle to go into hypnosis and most of the time these clients are on antidepressants. Everyone responds differently, and some people may notice changes in how easily they are able to relax or enter a deeply meditative or hypnotic state. If you have any concerns about how your medication may interact with hypnosis or meditation practices, please consult your prescribing doctor or qualified healthcare professional before your session as you might be allowed to have the medication out of your system 24 hours prior to a session.

The goal is to feel comfortable, grounded, and at ease.

Step 4: Write Down Your Questions or Focus Areas

It can be helpful to bring a few thoughts or questions into your session.

For example:

  • Why do I feel this way in certain situations?

  • What is the root of this pattern in my life?

  • What do I need to understand or release?

You may not need to refer to these directly during hypnosis, but having them in mind can help guide the experience.

Step 5: Allow Yourself Time to Slow Down

In the lead-up to your session, try to give yourself some space to unwind.

You might:

  • Spend time in quiet reflection

  • Take a walk in nature

  • Reduce stress where possible on the day

Arriving in a calmer state makes it easier to enter hypnosis comfortably.

Step 6: Let Go of Fear or Doubt

It is completely normal to feel unsure about what will happen.

You will remain aware and in control throughout the session. Past life regression is a relaxed, focused state — similar to daydreaming or deep meditation.

There is no “right” or “wrong” way to experience it.

Step 7: Trust the Process

Every session unfolds differently.

Some people experience clear visual scenes, while others receive insight through thoughts, feelings, or subtle impressions. All of these are valid ways of accessing subconscious information.

What comes through is often exactly what you are ready to see or understand.

What Happens After Your Session

After your past life regression, you may feel:

  • More aware of patterns in your life

  • A sense of clarity or emotional release

  • A deeper understanding of yourself

You will also receive a recording of your session, which can help you reflect and gain further insight afterward.

Final Thoughts

Preparation for past life regression hypnosis is not about doing everything perfectly — it’s about arriving with openness, curiosity, and a willingness to explore.

When you allow yourself to relax and trust the experience, you create the space for meaningful insight and personal understanding to emerge.
